Introduction
to Global Environmetal Governance |
|
This
is the second edition of this unique dictionary and
introduction to Global Environmental Governance (GEG),
written and compiled by two veterans, Richard E. Saunier
and Richard A. Meganck. It provides a compilation of
over 5500 terms, organizations and acronyms, drawn from
hundreds of official sources. An introductory essay
frames the major issues in GEG and outlines the pitfalls
of taking past one another when discussing the most
critical of issues facing the planet. It challenges
those who are concerned with the management of our planet
and its inhabitants to understand and accept a vocabulary
common to the often-opposing objectives sought in the
many GEG instruments. This fully revised and updated
edition contains over 500 new entries and acronyms on
global environmental governance as well as a new introductory
section on global water governance.
The book is divided in two part, Part 1 contains an
Essay on Global Environmental Governance, and Part II:
A Dictionary of Selected Terms, Concepts, Jargons, Acronyms
Used in Global Environmental Governance. |

and Private Participation in Water and Wastewater Sector
|

This
book, authored by Cledan Mandri-Perrott and published
by IWA provides practical guidance on applying public
private partnership structures within the constraints
of European legislation, with examples on how to ensure
consistency with EU procurement, competition law and
the Water Framework Directive. It reconciles the need
for adequate regulation within the context of a monopoly
provision of service–a major concern of the European
competition policy.
The book is intended to provide practical guidance on
how to introduce a Public Private partnership (PPP)
as a strategy towards helping meet the demands for massive
capital investments and improved management and performance
in the water and wastewater sector. The priciples discussed
in this book will also be useful outside European context.
